So I am trolling the internet in the middle of the night (can’t sleep — ran out of Vicodin before I ran out of pain) and one of my searches brings me to an Australian sports page where a question had been posed as to what was the best team readers had played on over the years. One of the answers:

Queensland Corporate Games inaugural Rugby 7’s champions, 2000. Undefeated across the competition (although to be fair, there were only about 8-10 teams). We had a former Qld schoolboy, two past or current premier grade players, and a bunch of no-hopers, such as myself.
We won a tight final against a Hospitals team, after overcoming a side includuing a former Qld player – hooker Michael Ware, now a noted journalist. I remember getting absolutely crunched, but getting the pass away to the unmarked winger who scored. Happy times.
I suspect that it may have been at this tournament that this Newspix photo was taken:
Can’t be sure, of course, but it would seem to fit. (I have tried finding more photos/information, but so far nothing has popped.)
Nothing else new. Going to slip back into my malaise now…
